Simulated Emergencies in General Practice
This training is run by CREATe Forth Valley and the Scottish Centre for Simulation and Clinical Human Factors (SCSCHF).
NHS Forth Valley's state-of the-art multi-professional training facility and the only high fidelity simulation centre in Scotland.
The SCSCHF team comes to your Practice to deliver the training. These sessions are great for teambuilding, and can involve all practice staff, both clinical and administrative.
How It Works
The team meets to discuss the "rules of the game" and what you hope to get from the session, this is also a good opportunity to ask questions.
A patient/actor approaches the Receptionist for help in a predetermined scenario and the team use emergency resources to "treat" the patient.
After the the predetermined scenario, the team comes together to talk about what went well and any suggestions for improvements.
This training is non-judgemental, with a focus on teams and systems, not individuals and is informal and fun.
